With a goal to equip 55 percent of Tennesseans with a college degree or certificate by 2025, Tennessee’s Drive to 55 initiative is a nationwide model for a strategic and integrated education and workforce development strategy. Through well-coordinated partnerships with the private sector and higher education institutions, and first-of-their-kind scholarship programs like Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect, Tennessee is sending more and more high school students and adult learners to community college and technical college, tuition-free, to get the skills they need for the jobs of today and tomorrow.
Since the inception of the Drive to 55 initiative, CRISP Communications has provided integral statewide planning, strategic advice, and implementation support for earned media, statewide advertising campaigns, digital and social media marketing, and special events. In addition, CRISP administers the statewide Drive to 55 Alliance of private sector and community partners to help grow business engagement with Drive to 55 marquee programs like the Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect scholarships.
Tennessee elected officials, higher education partners, and business and community leaders have come together to strengthen and fortify the Drive to 55 initiative and its education and workforce development programs. Tennessee is among the top states in the nation that are increasing college-going rates and is ahead of schedule to meet its goal– creating more opportunity for high school graduates and adult learners, and a better quality of life for all.
